Columbus police said the crash occurred around 9:10 p.m. on the 2500 block of South Hamilton Road, a commercial area with fast-food restaurants between Kimberly Parkway and Macsway Avenue, just north of Eastland mall.

Police said 46-year-old Jason Jordan, of Columbus, was crossing South Hamilton Road north of Macsway Avenue and was outside a crosswalk when he was struck.

Police said Jordan was in the southbound lanes of traffic when he was struck by a silver SUV traveling southbound. The driver of the SUV continued driving south after the crash and did not stop.

The impact of the crash threw Jordan into the northbound lanes of traffic, where police said he was struck by three other vehicles: a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Abou Talla, 52, of the East Side; a 2007 Chevrolet Express van driven by 23-year-old Vasquez Hernandez, of Columbus, and a 2016 Honda Accord driven by 54-yearold Robert Davis, of Groveport.

Talla, Hernandez and Davis all stayed at the scene and called 911, police said.

Jordan was taken to Mount Carmel East hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:43 p.m. Tuesday. His death is the 19th traffic fatality in the city in 2021.
