Joseph “Joe” Leo Mcneill, loving husband and father of six children, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. He was born on April 14, 1957 in Lima, Ohio to Wilma Rose Mcneill-pike and the late Herbert Joseph Mcneill. Joe is a 1975 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. He retired from The Columbus Dispatch after 33 years of service. Joe was very tech savvy and enjoyed working outside. He loved working on home improvemen­ts and computer projects. Joe was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was especially dedicated to his family. Joe displayed confidence and intelligen­ce when pursuing any project or when helping people in need. He made a great and lasting impact on the lives of many. Joe lived his life knowing that happiness lies in the journey and it is not about the end result. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by his step-father Joe Pike. In addition to his mother, Joe is also survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Diane (Gagnon) Mcneill; his six children, Julie (Eric) Salamon, Jennifer (Tyler) Roach, David (Francesca) Mcneill, Jessica Mcneill, Janelle Mcneill, Jill

Visitation will be held from 5-8PM Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main Street, Plain City with Prayers at 8PM. A funeral Mass will be held 11AM Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church PAC- Parish Activities Center, 670 West Main Street, Plain City, OH 43064, with Father Joseph Trapp officiatin­g. The funeral Mass can be viewed via Youtube -Saint Joseph Plain City - Livestream of Mass. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, 670 West Main Street, Plain City, OH 43064. Due to Covid-19, there will not be a gathering following the funeral service. Social distancing and wearing masks will be practiced at all times.
