Michele Denise Young “Chele” was born the second child of parents Leon Young and Carrie (Wright) Young on December 27, 1961, in Columbus Ohio. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, class of 1980 in Denver Colorado. She attended the University of Northern Colorado and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. She then taught elementary school in Denver for several years until she moved to Columbus, Ohio and taught Head Start for several years. She was a free spirit whose passion included singing and performing in the creative arts, while living in Denver. Michele passed away peacefully at home on March 12 surrounded by her loving family. She fought a long hard battle for 7 yrs. with ovarian cancer. She is preceded in death by grandparen­ts Sterling Sr. and Lucy Mae Wright and Royal and Daisy Young, aunts Doris Holliman and Jacqueline Redmond and uncles James, Sterling, Louis, Marion, and Charles Wright. She leaves to mourn her mother, Carrie E Wright; father, Leon (Lynn) Young, Goodyear, AZ; brothers, Leon D. Young II, Alexandria, VA and Lamonte (Sancha) Young; sister, Monique Young, Col, OH; niece, Ashley (Tiffany) Johnson, Phoenix AZ; aunts, Jearline Bass, Denver, CO, Betty Johnson, Shirley Gibson, Brenda (Harold) Cowans, Phyllis Corner, Barbara Wright, Evelyn Doughty, Lynn (Russell)

Cunningham, all of Col, OH and Arlene Calloway, Laurel, MD; uncles, Donald (Sheila) Wright, Detroit, MI, and Jerry Wright, Col, OH; and many family and friends from Denver, Colorado and Ohio. We would like to give our special acknowledg­ement of appreciati­on to her doctor Ritu Salani and staff at the Stephanie Spielman Ovarian Center, Wesley Hospice staff, nurse Amanda Lentz and care aide Elaine Mcknight, for their personal care provided to our sister, daughter Michele.
