Wright, Tom C.
1940 - 2021
Tom C. Wright was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 28, 1940 and passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021. Tom attended North High School and graduated from The Ohio State University with an undergraduate degree in accounting and a masters of finance.
Tom was recruited by the Wasserstrom Companies in 1962 while obtaining his masters and over the next 13 years oversaw the sales and marketing departments at N. Wasserstrom & Sons. In 1975 Tom was offered an opportunity by the Wasserstrom family to run a small subsidiary. Over the next 22 years, Tom with the efforts and dedication of many talented people charted a course for Amtecko Industries that achieved tremendous success and recognition with countless innovations geared towards food service, convenience stores and emerging supermarket industries across the United States. Tom was a Free Mason and a member of Community Lodge No. 684. Tom loved watching the Buckeyes and enjoyed hosting many parities that would conclude with singing Carmen Ohio. Tom was preceded in death by his brother Dr. Frank Wright and sister Karen Scarberry-williams. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Jane Horowitz-wright; Tom is survived by three children, Patrick (Debi)
Wright, Elizabeth (David) Ashcraft and Paul (Susan) Wright; grandchildren, Ashlyne, Cameron, Ryan, Megan, Anna, Livia, Ben, Riley, Kayla, Parker and Ralph Robinson, as well as many other extended family members and countless friends. He was such a great father, friend, uncle, grandpa “Gunka”, investment advisor and mentor to so many people that reached high levels of personal and business success under his direction. If the value of a person’s life is measured by the number of people, they touch in living it, then it is not possible to even attempt to put a value on Tom’s life. The people he touched, the friendships he made and maintained are innumerable. A service is not planned at this time however, please post pictures and condolences to the Facebook Group, In Loving Memory of Tom “Gunka” Wright”.
