Nancy Ann (Stephenson) Swackhamer, age 83, of Reynoldsbu­rg, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 after a battle with ALS. She was a wonderful wife and dedicated mother. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert L. Swackhamer; and 6 of their children, Dave (Jewell) Swackhamer, Kristi (Mark) Jordan, Roxy (Tim) Geiger, Alan Swackhamer, Toni (Rusty) Edwards, and Greg (Christy) Swackhamer. Preceding her in death was their son Jeffrey Swackhamer. Also surviving are her 16 grandchild­ren and 8 great-grandchild­ren; sister, Karen Adams; and sister-in-law, Beverly Knisley. Nancy was born in New Holland, Ohio to the late Gerald and Doris (Morris) Stephenson, on January 30, 1938. She was raised on a farm in Washington Courthouse and graduated from Washington Courthouse High School. She was a 4-H member for 11 years participat­ing in baking and sewing. After graduation she moved to Columbus in 1956 and attended Lorene Modeling School and proceded to teach at D’arcy Modeling School. She married her high school sweetheart in 1958 and moved to Reynoldsbu­rg in 1966. She was a member of Reynoldsbu­rg Church of Christ. She had been an Avon and Home Interiors representa­tive. Nancy was an avid gardener, seamstress, and loved playing cards. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and would winter in Bradenton, Florida the last 15 years. Nancy was very active; she hiked the Grand Canyon, won several medals in the Senior Olympics, turning cartwheels at age 75 and even ziplining at 82! Her favorite and most important job was being a devoted mother to her 7 children. She was an active grandmothe­r whose favorite activities were taking the grandchild­ren to Franklin Park Conservato­ry, Dawes Aboretum, the Zoo, and parks. Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street, Reynoldsbu­rg. Nancy’s service will be Wednesday at 12:30pm at the Reynoldsbu­rg Church of Christ, 1649 Graham Road, Reynoldsbu­rg with visiting beginning at 11:30am.
