On Saturday March 27, 2021 Carla Lee Simmons of Westervill­e, OH passed away at the age of 53 with the love of her life by her side at St Ann’s Hospital.

Carla was born on August 2, 1967 in Morgantown,

West Virginia to the late

Gene Jackson and Patsy (Tongate) Simmons. She graduated from Morgantown

High School in 1985 and Ohio University in 1989 with a BBA in Marketing.

Carla’s profession­al career begin with the Eddie Bauer and Bombay companies.

After moving back to

Columbus, she began working with JP Morgan

Chase where she has been for 22 years, most recently as an Associate Program

Manager. Carla never met a stranger and was always willing to help others or share a kind gesture. She much preferred to be on the giving end of gifts.

There are so many stories of her extensive knowledge and sense of humor. She was very skilled in the culinary arts and excelled with her baking. She frequently gifted her family, friends, and co-workers with exquisite boxes of her baked goods. Carla enjoyed being an avid collector, caring for her beloved cats and traveling. Carla is survived by her partner of 23-years, Karen Garrison;

her older sisters, Lisa

Simmons of Morgantown,

WV and Molly (Paul) Willis of Newfields, NH; her uncle,

John Tongate of Austin, TX; nephews, Aidan Willis of

Las Vegas, NV and Owen

Willis of Newfields, NH; and her Lifelong friend, Mark

Sanders of Morgantown,

WV; and many close friends and coworkers. At the request of the family there will be no visitation or formal funeral services. There will be a celebratio­n of life for Carla planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a remembranc­e donation in
