Marshall Mowrey, age 95, of Hilliard, passed away on

March 31, 2021 at Kobacker

House. He was born on

July 10, 1925 to M. Marshall

and Zora Mossholder

Mowrey in Alexandria,

Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years, Nancy Kauffman

Mowrey, and by brother and sister-in-law Elmous and

Elgene Price Mowrey. He is survived by sons, Steve (Joanna Mitchell) Mowrey of Athens, Ohio and Vince

Mowrey of Ojai, California; daughters, Mindy (David)

Eagle of Dublin and Marcy (Mike) Gauch of Upper

Arlington. Also survived by 11 grandchild­ren, Marisa (Luke Hartmann) Mowrey,

Leda Mowrey and Claire

Mowrey, Douglas (Stephanie) Eagle, Amy (Lewis)

Gordon, Tobin (Heidi) Eagle,

Erica (Beau) Wolford and

Lisa (Joe) Ross, David

Gauch, Mason (Dani)

Gauch and J.B Gauch; by 11 great-grandchild­ren; Marsh was a graduate of Alexandria High School 1943 where he was a scholar athlete, class president and valedictor­ian. He was a graduate of Miami

University 1949 where he was a chapter charter member and president of

Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, a member of honorary fraterniti­es and of the Miami baseball team. Marsh was a proud WWII Army veteran, serving in the European

Theatre. As a member of the 666th Field Artillery

Battalion, Charlie Battery, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and later served in occupation in Germany and Austria. He found great satisfacti­on in staying in touch with Army buddies and planning and attending gatherings and reunions.

Marsh briefly worked for the CIA and the FBI; for

North American Aviation as

Security Director in Tulsa and Columbus; for Bechtel

Corporatio­n in San Francisco

and American Motors in

Detroit. He was retired from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Marsh had great nostalgia for his upbringing on a family farm, his friends and his many and varied life experience­s. Marsh will be remembered for his love of family, his work ethic, his cheerfulne­ss and optimism, his firm handshake and warm hugs, his amazing memory and storytelli­ng, and for his sense of humor and laughter. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 4-7PM at

SCHOEDINGE­R NORTHWEST,

1740 Zollinger Road,

Columbus, Ohio 43221.

Guests are respectful­ly asked to wear masks to ensure safety for everyone attending. A private burial service will take place the following day at Maple

Grove Cemetery in Alexandria,
