Robin Fritts was born
April 15, 1948 in Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, to
Betty and Robert Fritts.
He grew up in Cambridge,
Ohio playing basketball and running track where he excelled in the Long Jump (his school record remained for many years) and in the
Pole Vault which he won
All State Honors and also had the school record.
After graduating Cambridge
High School in 1966, he obtained his Bachelor’s
Harry Ernest “Hal” Hoffer,
Jr., 49, of Columbus, OH, passed away Tuesday,
March 16, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 10am
Friday, April 9, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Proctorville in Proctorville,
OH with Pastor Mark
Kozak officiating. The burial service will be in
from Ohio University in 1970. After two blind dates, he captured the heart of his devoted wife Karen, to whom he was married for 44 years, and had two sons, Dr. Aaron Fritts (Dr.
Gopi Shah) and Brandon
Fritts and two grandchildren, Jai and Dax Fritts, who will remember him as
“Papa”. He had a successful 38-year career with
Jostens Yearbook Division and retired well respected in his field. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family and friends, and sharing a bottle of his favorite chardonnay with his mother and her husband Jim. For those who knew him, Robin was a beautiful soul, a social butterfly, and made anyone in his presence feel comfortable, warm and welcomed. He epitomized
“cool” with his sense of style and sense of self; his ability to hang alone or with others, he could enjoy the tery immediately following the funeral service. Hal was born June 12, 1971 in
Dover, DE and is the son of Harry Ernest Hoffer, Sr.
PH.D. of Salisbury, MD. and Sharon Kay Rife PH.D. of Palm Beach Gardens,
FL and El Paso, TX and is the brother of Kathleen
Rife Hoffer of Stamford, CT and Deirdre Elaine Hoffer
Huff of Denver, CO. Hal was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents
George Henry and Margaurite Agnes Garlitz Hoffer and his maternal grandparents
Benjamin Franklin and
Dortha Kathleen Estes Rife.
Hal was a professional golf caddy and was the Director of Golf Facilities at Heritage Harbor Golf Club in
Bradenton, FL. Hal received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from
The Ohio State University. same. Fearless, without a doubt, he had no selfdoubt. He opened his heart and mind in any company; he brought fun and joy to all those who crossed his path. Robin, you made
“tweets” cool before Twitter.
You made chocolate milk and toasted PBJS a staple.

Hal was graduated from
Logan Elm High School in Circleville, OH in 1989 where he was the Captain of the Logan Elm High
School Golf Team. In 1987
Hal won the Central Ohio
PGA Junior Golf Championship
and he was a recipient of the Nicklaus Award
Golf Athlete Scholarship in 1989. Hal also played collegiate golf at Otterbein
College in Westerville, OH.
Friends may visit the family 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday,
April 8 2021 at Chapman’s
