• Margaret Peterson Haddix: The Columbus-based author will launch her new novel during a virtual appearance at 7 p.m. Tuesday,presented by Cover to Cover Books for Young Readers. “Greystone Secrets #3: The Messengers,” geared to ages 8 to 12, is the conclusion of the series about the Greystones and their doubles, the Gustanos, who must team up to save an alternate world. • Marcus Jackson: The Ohio-born poet will read his poetry and talk with the audience in a free virtual event at noon Wednesday, presented by the Columbus Metropolit­an Library. Jackson lives in Columbus and teaches at Ohio State University and Queens University of Charlotte in North Caroline. Robyn Lyons-robinson, English professor at Columbus State Community College, will moderate the event, which is co-hosted by the Columbus State Community College Library. • S. Lee Manning: The first espionage thriller to star a Russian-jewish immigrant as a secret agent for American intelligen­ce is “Trojan Horse,” published in 2016. Manning’s next book, “Nerve Attack,” is due in September. The author will appear at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday during a virtual event presented by the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus. • Melissa Febos: The author of “Whip Smart,” her memoir of working as a New York dominatrix, has a new book. In “Girlhood,” which came out March 30, Febos tackles and debunks many of the “truisms” American females are told growing up. Febos will appear in a virtual conversati­on with Kelley Griesmer, CEO of The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio, at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Women’s Fund and Columbus School for Girls are partnering with Gramercy Books for this event. • Kim Blaeser: The Wisconsin poet will read from her works in a free virtual event at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The event is part of Denison University’s Beck Series and is open to the public. • Mary Whyte: “We The People,” an exhibit of watercolor portraits of American veterans from all 50 states, is accompanie­d by a book with the same title. From 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Whyte will conduct a book-signing and tours of the exhibit, which ends April 11, at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, 300 W.
