Phyllis N. (Carfagna) Militello, age 97, of Columbus, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 3, 2021. Born in Vastogirar­di, Italy on June 10, 1923, she immigrated to the United States as a young child, settling on the family farm in New Albany, Ohio. After graduation from North High School, she worked at Carfagna’s, the family store, until her marriage to Vincent Militello. In 1979, she attended Bliss College where she obtained her real estate license. Though well known for perfectly styled hair and dressing to the nines, Phyllis’ greatest joy was providing an immaculate home for her family and guests. After raising her boys, she worked at Carfagna’s Market until retirement at 91. She was a member of the Guild Athletic Club, Riviera Country Club, and St. John the Baptist Church. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents Ermogeno Saturnino “Sam” and Maria Carfagna, husband of 50 years, Vincent J. Militello Sr., sister and brother-in-law Lucia and Vince Trovato, brother and sister-in-law Adamo and Antoinette Carfagna, brother and sister-in-law Edward and Cecilia Carfagna, brother-in-law Jim Cockerell, sister-in-law and brotherin-law Nina and Emilio Marasco. Survived by loving sons, Gasper and Vincent (Janet) Militello Jr. Also left to cherish her memory, grandchild­ren, Gasper and Michael, Amy (Todd Roush),

Vincent III, and Matthew Militello; great grandchild­ren, Jonathan Dalton, Samantha (Don), Joseph, Sylvianna, and Sienna; special nieces, Grace Marasco and Stephanie Graham; and sister, Mary Jean Cockerell who provided tender-loving kindness until the end; and many other nieces, nephews and extended family in the US and Vastogirar­di, Italy. Friends received Sunday 3-7PM at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S. High St. Prayer Service 7PM Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial 10AM Monday, April 12, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Church, 720 Hamlet Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Fr. Robert Kitsmiller Celebrant.
