Columbus police ID homicide victims
Columbus police have identified the victims of two recent homicides in North Linden.
Ticardo Lawayne Williams, 47, had been dead for up to 24 hours before officers discovered his body around 3:45 p.m. Saturday inside the residence in the 2800 block of Cleveland Avenue, police said.
Officers had been called to the apartment for a well-being check and found Williams’ body with a gunshot wound.
The front door of the second-floor apartment was kicked in and had bullet holes when officers arrived at the apartment, according to Columbus police. Police said there were also bullet holes found in the ceiling and walls of the unit.
Police have not released information about a suspect in Williams’ death, which is the 56th homicide committed this year in Columbus.
On Wednesday, police also identified 32-year-old Sade Payne, of Olde Towne East, as the city’s 54th homicide victim.
A neighbor called police around 5:20 a.m. April 8 to report a woman was screaming for help at a bus stop on the 3600 block of Maize Road.
Payne, who was found shot and partially clothed, was rushed to Ohiohealth Riverside Methodist Hospital, where she died a short time later.
Police have not released any information about possible suspects in the case.
