Gardening events, both relaxed and more intensive, are popping up all over now that spring is underway. A sampling: h For those who want to know just what their plants are getting into, the Franklin Park Conservato­ry and Botanical Gardens will be offering a four week virtual class on soil health, covering soil types, what makes healthy soil, cover crops and the relationsh­ip between soil and water quality. Classes begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and the series costs $80, or $72 for members. Beginning herbalists can pick up plants and seeds at the Garden School, 1350 E. Cooke Road, in preparatio­n for an online class on how to grow and use them. Take your own containers or buy them at the center, 1051 Route 56 E., Circlevill­e. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and includes instructio­n and inspiratio­n, but not soil or plants, which are available for sale at the center. Tickets cost $10 for an individual who isn't imbibing, or $55 for a table of four with mimosas. Front St. In addition to fresh produce and baked goods, the event from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday will offer visitors the chance to put together herb and lettuce boxes.
