Tigers, Wildcats retain top 2 spots in Super 7
After one week of the high school football season, this much we know: Pickerington Central still is the unanimous No. 1 team in the Super 7 poll, and Westerville South remains No. 2 and is only three votes from being a unanimous pick in that spot.
After that, it's anyone's guessbecause the Tigers and the Wildcats were the only teams on all 11 ballots.
In all, 18 teams received votes, which we will attribute to the balance of central Ohio football this season.
Yes, it likely won't be this way in a few weeks as the top teams separate themselves.
But what an opening week it was as four teams dropped out of the poll, and Olentangy Liberty fell from third to seventh after losing to Steubenville 22-7.
Upper Arlington joins the poll at No. 3, followed by newcomers Westerville Central, Hilliard Darby and Pickerington North.
A little shakeup can be expected in the next poll as well as Westerville South visits Westerville Central this week.
