1928 - 2021

Mildred Louise Demos, 93, passed from this life on August 31, 2021, at her home in Dublin with her faithful husband, David D. Demos, at her side. She was born to Chester and Opal Harris of Obetz, Ohio, on July 31, 1928. Mildred and David’s 74 years of marriage were centered around their faith in Christ and their family. Their union produced Dean (Patty), Carol (Ed), Gary (Linda), Susan (Wayne), and David Gregory (deceased, 1993), 11 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Mildred’s life was also filled with music. She served as organist for at least six different churches in the Columbus area. One of her greatest joys was accompanying her husband as they sang beloved Christian songs. She described the grand piano in her living room as “her right arm.” Like her own mother whom she adored, she was most happy making a home for her family. She enjoyed the company of her devoted husband from whom she received exemplary care and support until her passing. Her mealtime recipes were the gold standard to her children. Her own mother’s home-made egg noodle making has become a family tradition. She crocheted dresses and quilted blankets to leave her offspring cherished tokens of her love and support. A card table covered with a puzzle was a frequent sight in her living room. Her pleasantness and sense of humor were graciously apparent to all who entered her home, endearing her to the Hospice of Central Ohio personnel. A lifelong flower lover and backyard bird and duck watcher, Mildred found great joy in gazing out her kitchen window for hours each day. Especially appreciated are her husband, David, and her daughter, Carol Louise, for assuming primary care responsibilities up to her passing. Visitation will be held Friday, September 3 from 4-7pm at O. R. WOODYARD NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 2990 Bethel Rd., where funeral service will be held Saturday at 10am. Interment Alton Cemetery.
