James “Jim” Spielberger, age 54, of Reynoldsburg, OH, passed away September 10, 2021. He was born on February 1, 1967 in Batavia, NY to the late Werner “Bill” and Mary Spielberger. Jim had a charismatic personality, a kind spirit, and generous willingness to help friends and family. He was a favorite of his nieces and nephews due to his own young heartedness and enjoyment of fun and life. Being a brother to four sisters and a son to loving parents, he never hesitated to help out the family wherever he could. Jim graduated from Bloom Carroll High School in 1985 and went on to attain a degree in Criminal Justice from Bowling Green University. Upon graduation from Bowling Green, he dabbled in private investigation before taking a job as a corporate fraud investigator. His passion for cars, his entrepreneurial drive, and his bigger than life personality provided the perfect combination for his true calling in life which was Gender Auto Sales. He was very good at this business. At a young age, Jim and his dad would work on cars together. This was a hobby they enjoyed and Jim leaned on his dad for knowledge right up until his passing last year. Jim was a hands-on leader who was involved in all aspects of this business. This business thrived due in part to his keen eye for inventory selection, natural salesman abilities and uplifting personality. Jim also loved sports and keeping in shape. Anyone who knew him well might say that he may have been one of the most avid fans of the Colts’ football team. Since being a little kid, through thick and thin, he stuck by them no matter what the season brought. His sense of humor and lightheartedness made him a person that you truly enjoyed being around and he could always make you laugh. He is preceded by his mother Mary Spielberger, and father Werner (Bill) Spielberger. Survivors include his son, Byron Spruill; his four siblings, Anne (Josh) Cooper, Kathy Spielberger, Margaret Spielberger, and Helen Spielberger; six nieces and nephews, Colin (Fabienne Eliezer) Cooper, Ryan (Rita Raturi) Cooper, Megan Cooper, Andrew Harter, Sara Hubman, and Anthony Pincelli. Friends and family may visit Thursday, September 16 from 5-8pm at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd North, Pickerington, Ohio, 43147. A funeral service will be at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110, Friday, September 17 at 1pm. Burial will be in Lithopolis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of his late mother, to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be found at www.spencefuneralhome.com.
