Joseph F. Doll, Jr., age 81, beloved husband of Ruth Ann Dougherty Doll of Gahanna, Ohio, formerly Versailles, Kentucky, passed away of congestive heart failure on September 21, 2021 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Born April 2, 1940 in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was a graduate of Portsmouth High School and retired from a long career at Western Electric/at&t in Columbus, Ohio. He was a standard bred and thoroughbr­ed racehorse enthusiast, and former co-owner of Golden Stroke and Total For Real. He was a loyal Chevrolet car owner including a 1960 and a 2010 Corvette. Considerin­g his life as chauffer for his children and wife, we are grateful that he was able to enjoy his 2nd Corvette. Predecease­d by his parents Joseph F. Doll Sr. and Margaret (Holt) Doll Sullens, and his son Michael J. Doll. Survived by his loving wife; brother, David Doll (Ladonna); daughter, Kristina Dunlap; son-in-law, Bryan Dunlap; nieces, Cynthia Doll, Melissa Doll, and Stephanie (Tom) Hamer. Viewing hours are 9-11AM on Saturday, Sept 25, 2021 at St. Leo Catholic Church, 295 Huntertown Rd., Versailles, KY 40383. Funeral Mass will follow at 11AM by celebrant Fr. Chris Clay. Face masks are required in the church. Interment will be scheduled at a later date at Rose Crest Cemetery in Versailles, Kentucky.
