Kiener, Mary Elizabeth (Quinn)

-

1926 - 2021

Mary Elizabeth (Quinn) Kiener, 95, passed away at home on Saturday, Sept 18, 2021 with family at her side. Daughter of the late Frank M and Margaret M (Hammond) Quinn in New Lexington, OH, Mary graduated from St. Aloysius Academy before moving to the big city to attend business school and land a job. It wasn’t long before she was whisked away from her exciting new life by love and marriage where for the next seven decades she was the CEO of diapers, carpools, and school plays, mender of scraped knees, dryer of fallen tears, and fierce protector of her seven chicks while her husband traveled for work all week. Following 60+ years of cooking responsibilities, her favorite dish became whatever anyone else was cooking. In retirement, Mary loved shopping, lunch out with her daughters and rummaging thru many estate sales, where she’d easily outlast us all. She enjoyed the last few years living with her daughter Susan who lavishly enabled her love of hats, adding greatly to her collection which she adored and wore with style on their walks around the neighborhood, often along with a treasure from her voluminous costume jewelry collection that came to be known as bedazzlements. A long-time member of St. Agatha Church, she was preceded in death by her husband Clem

A., daughter Mary A and brother Roy Quinn. Mary is survived by her children, Jim, Susan (John) Emerick, John, Sarah, Tom (Cindy) and Karen (Gary Reiner); 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and her sister, Sue A Quinn Boyle. A gentle, kind soul loved by one and all who ever met her. Mary is already greatly missed. Family will receive friends on Sunday, Oct 3 from 2-5pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio, with a prayer service at 4:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Oct 4 at 11am at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Road, Columbus, Ohio. Fr. Mark Summers of

at the Church. Inurment will be Sat., Oct 9 at 11am New Lexington Cemetery.
