Robert “Bob” E. Gray, Jr, age 66, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Bob was born in Columbus to the late Robert E. and Joan (Oliver) Gray. He graduated from West High School in 1972. Following graduation, Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by Lane Aviation with more than 20 years of dedicated service. He was most recently employed by Home Depot. Bob was a member of the NRA, a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church and currently attended Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was previously involved with Amvets, American Legion, the VFW and the Moose Lodge. Additional­ly, Bob and his late wife Judy were very active in The Hilltop Business Associatio­n. He enjoyed guns, hunting, Air Force and family history. With his aviation background, Bob could identify an airplane by the sound of the engine without seeing the plane itself. He was an ornery jokester and enjoyed a good game of chess. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Judy, and sister Kathy Curry. Bob is survived by his children, Bobbie (Ken) Gier and Rob (Mary) Cherry; grandchild­ren, Elizabeth Gier, Nicole, Alexis, and

Kayley Cherry; sister Patricia (Yahya) Hodjat; brother-in-law, Ace Curry; special cousin, Shirley Gray; dear friends, Sue and Tim Watson and Lisa Simpson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his Home Depot work family. Visitation will be held 12-2PM Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Schoedinge­r Grove City, 3920 Broadway, where a Memorial Service honoring Bob’s life will follow at 2PM. Pastor David Shull officiatin­g.
