Vickie Lee (Johnson) Buchanan, 64, of Westervill­e, transition­ed peacefully to Heaven at home on September 25, 2021, after a courageous 10 month battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. Born in Columbus on September 27, 1956, Vickie was preceded in death by her parents Russell M. and Ida (Legg) Johnson and her grandparen­ts Herbert and Elsie Legg. Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Rodney (Rod) Buchanan; and her beloved dog, Charlie; her brothers, Russell M. (Rusty) Johnson (Laura) of Brooksvill­e, Florida, Herbert R. (Herb) Johnson (Shirley) of Frederickt­own, OH; and sister, Lori J. Evans of Southlake, Texas; and brother-inlaw, Gary Buchanan of Lancaster, OH; numerous nephews and nieces. Vickie attended Brookhaven H.S. (‘74), Franklin University, and the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and

was a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), whose

long work career included employment stints at Mac Tools (17); Northstar Technologi­es (4);Franklin University (3), The CBC Companies(6) and Central Ohio Transport -COTA (7). Vickie was so lucky to have such great and supportive quilting friends, especially Barb,

Beth, Jane Pat and Carol.

These ladies have also been so very supportive during her cancer battle. We also pay tribute to all the wonderful hospice nurses from Heartland Hospice, for their dedicated and loving care, who responded when ever needed, and were there during Vickie’s transition. In addition, we want to to thank all the

families who provided their sincere support. Family and friends may attend visiting hours from 4-7pm on Monday, October 4 at MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 Schrock Road, Westervill­e, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jonathan Wilson on Tuesday, October 5 at 10:30am at St

Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westervill­e, followed by a graveside service at Blendon Central Cemetery for family members only.
