The family of Mary Louise

Barr would like to announce her reunion with the love of her life William Harvey Barr on August 23, 2021. Born

June 19, 1934, Louise, as she was known to her friends and family, was the eldest of the four daughters of Charles and Marianna

Chesser. Louise started work as a clerk at age fourteen and she graduated from Linden-mckinley High

School. She met the love of her life soon after and they dated until Bill proposed on

Halloween 1951. They were married before Bill shipped out to Korea, and upon his return the happy couple moved to Whitehall, Ohio where Louise did her best to ensure her family had a loving, happy, and clean home to grow up in while her husband worked several career in barbering. Whether

it was acting as a Room

Mother at school, head chef for a family picnic, or encouraging Bill’s business decisions, Louise was the mainspring and support for all her families endeavors.

Louise learned to fish, ride a bike, and swim because

Bill loved the outdoors, and she used her talent for sewing to create and repair her son’s clothes.

She didn’t spend all her time in the home though,

Louise worked at the local

Dairy Queen, putting curls on countless cones, before moving on to a career as an office manager for

Columbus Neurological

Associates, from which she retired. In her retirement

Louise happily followed the many achievements of her children and grandchildren, but she was also interested in many children’s charities as well. During her recent illness, Louise appreciated the calls and thoughts of her sisters Sue Rister and

Jean Wharton, and her sister-in-law Eileen Dostie, and wished them all well as she and Bill are re-united. Louise

also wanted to thank the staff of Capital City Hospice

and Paramount Senior

Living where she spent her final days for their care and compassion. Mary Louise

Barr leaves behind her two sons David and Michael and their wives Patti (Hornor) and Mary Beth (Mudd) and her grandchildren

Melanie Lynn and Dustin

Allen Barr. We all will miss her sorely. A Celebration of

Louise’s Life will be held at her home 218 Pioneer

Circle on Oct. 17 at 2:30pm in the afternoon.
