David C. Smith Jr, 67 of Whitehall, passed away December 18, 2021. He was born September 5, 1954 in Springfield, OH. David was a very private individual, but seemed to have an aura about him that radiated over to anyone who was near him. Those who knew him, immediately could feel his positive energy. He was kind, caring and compassionate; always smiling and making you laugh. David was a family man. He always put his wife, kids

and grandkids first. He took

great pride in caring for his lawn on Tuesdays and

Thursdays, golfing with his

buddies on Mondays and Wednesdays. Weekends, he spent making his wife happy. Preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Parsley, father, David Smith, many uncles and aunts. David is survived by his loving best friend and wife of 20 years, Susan; sons, Marlon Smith and David (Melat) Butcher; daughters, Heather (Joseph) Himmelspach and Stefanie Huber; brothers, Julian (Bessie) Smith, Dino (Stacia) Smith and Anthony Smith; sisters, Doris Johnson, Elizabeth (Wee

Wee) Smith, and Larona Williams; father in-law, Max (Lucy) Starr; mother in-law, T Volsky; sisters in-law, Cindy Baier and Melissa (Al) Lucenta; brother in-law, Michael (Reyna) Volsky; grandson, Marquise Hardin; granddaughters, Chelsee Cress, Amiyah Ratliff, Natalie Himmelspach, Abigail and Ariel Butcher; great-grandson, Zane Hardin; many dear family members and friends. Memorial service 2 PM, Monday January 3, 2022, in the chapel of Diehl-whittaker Funeral Home, 720 E. Long St, where the family will receive friends from 1pm until time of service.
