Marvin Ira Zeldin, 69, of Elkridge, Maryland, formerly Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ivy Konel; children, Avram Polinsky (Stephanie Block), and Breina (Scott) Rippy; siblings, Howard (Marcie) Zeldin, and Ilene Zeldin; grandchild­ren, Harrison Polinsky, Victoria Rippy, and Zander Rippy; nieces, Julie Zeldin (Michael Losure),

Wendy Zeldin, Ilana Konel, Rachel Konel, and Bethany Konel; great niece, Eleanor Annette Zeldin Losure; great nephew, Solomon Hagedorn Zeldin; brother-inlaw, Michael Konel (Laurel Scarr-konel); and Uncle Murray Zaroff (Judy Zaroff); and Zaroff family cousins. He was predecease­d by his parents Solomon and Annette Zeldin. Marvin was a native of Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Columbus Eastmoor High School in 1970, and The Ohio State University’s College of Social Work in 1974. He worked for many years at his family’s automotive business, and then for several State of Ohio social agencies. After moving to Maryland in 2001, he served as a family service worker at the Head Start Program run by the Howard County Community Council, always trying to help the less fortunate. He retired from there in 2015. Marvin was a kidney transplant recipient. He was a member of Bet Chaverim Congregati­on in Columbia, Maryland. It is impossible to know the vast impact he made on the world through his work and generous spirit. He will be missed by all who knew him. May his memory be for a blessing always. Services will be held at Beth Moses Cemetery, 1500 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY, 11704, on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 1:30pm. Please omit flowers.
