Pryor (Wheeler), Jane

1932 - 2022

Jane Wheeler Pryor, eighty nine years old, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022. Jane was born July 1, 1932 and was a graduate of Bexley High School and the Ohio State University, where she received a degree in social work. She later acquired a teaching certificate in reading from Capital University. Jane was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and enjoyed her years at OSU, living in the Theta House. She was also a past member of Junior League, Childhood League, Columbus Country Club, and Columbus Athletic Club. She volunteered many years with Meals on Wheels along with her longtime friend, Joanne Dawson. A woman of deep faith, she was active in her church and loved the various Bible studies and prayer groups she participated in. Her true joy, in life, was the time spent with her grandchildren, both in Ohio and Arizona. She rarely missed a game or activity and delighted in cheering her grandkids on to victory. Preceded in death by her husband Frank “Buddy” Pryor, grandson Matthew Schoonover, parents Gordon and Dorthy Wheeler, and mother-in-law Ruth Pryor. Survived by daughter, Ellen (Paul) Schoonover; son, Gary (Becky)pryor; grandchildren, Myles Schoonover, Paige, Brooke, and Will Pryor; sister, Marge Wheeler Martin, and nieces and nephews, Steve and Sally Hinshaw, John Aigler, Jane D’angelo, and Joan Lancaster.
