● Ann Hagedorn: The author of “Beyond the River: The Untold Story of the Heroes of the Undergroun­d Railroad” will appear in person at 7 p.m. Feb. 16, in Jones Middle School auditorium, 2100 Arlington Ave., Upper Arlington. Hagedorn will discuss stories from her research into one of the main Undergroun­d Railroad arteries through Ripley, Ohio. A questionan­d-answer period and book signing will follow. ● Daniel Pink: The author and inspiratio­nal speaker will launch his seventh book, “The Power of Regret,” in an in-person and live-streamed event at 7 p.m. Feb. 17, at the Drexel Theatre, 2254 E. Main St., Bexley. Pink will be in conversati­on with Pelotonia CEO Doug Ulman discussing why regret may be a misunderst­ood but potentiall­y valuable emotion. Tickets cost $30 which includes a copy of Pink’s new book. Online tickets without a copy of the book cost $10. ● Hanif Abdurraqib and Peter Kahn: The editors of “Respect the Mic,” an anthology of 20 years of poetry from students of Chicago’s Oak Park River Forest High School Spoken Word Club, will appear in a free in-person and online event presented by Gramercy Books, 2424 E. Main St., Bexley, at 7 p.m. Feb. 19. The event will be moderated by Steven Waddell, an educator and former member of the Spoken Word Club.
