Holton, Marilyn

-

1945 - 2022

Marilyn Joyce Holton, 76, of Columbus, passed away April 14, 2022. Marilyn was born April 28, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois to William and Anna Lou “Tiny” (Bowlin) Bate. Marilyn was a stay-at-home loving wife and mother of three. She babysat all her grandkids, teaching them to be strong, loving and compassionate.

She enjoyed playing bingo, casino trips, crossword puzzles, building puzzles and connecting on Facebook. She loved getting together with family and friends. She was a force of nature, feisty and straightforward in the best way possible. She was a six-time cancer survivor and was the strongest person you’d

ever meet. The fight she

had to stay with her family over the last 21 years is unfathomable. She had many friends and was loved by all. She will be dearly missed but her memory will live on in all she touched. We know Heaven welcomed her with open arms and

find peace in knowing she

is whole again and feeling no pain. She will forever be our guardian angel watching over those she loved so deeply. Marilyn will be deeply missed by Jack, her husband of 55 years. Children: Chuck (Patti) Holton, Lori Thitoff, Amy (Chris) James, Grandchildren; Jennifer and Anthony Holton; Jamie Thitoff; Andrew, Maxwell and Adam James. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, William; mother, Anna Lou; brothers James, Robert and Gerald. Visitation will be Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 4pm until the time of service at 6:30pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus. Interment will be at Blendon Cemetery at a later date. To share a condolence with the family, please visit www.newcomercolumbus.com.
