1951 - 2022

Zachary S. Lewis, of Columbus and formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away with Ohio Health Hospice care surrounded by family on April 7, 2022. He was born on May 18, 1951 to Phillip and Catherine (Anderson) Lewis and was one of 3 siblings Steven Lewis, Elliott Lewis, Nadine Lewis of Poughkeepsie, NY (all predeceased). Zack was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in 1969 in Hyde Park, NY. He was a member of the wrestling team. While at Lincoln University he became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha and established a relationship with the fraternity until his passing. He graduated from Lincoln in 1973 with a degree in Psychology. He also obtained a journeymen’s degree

in pipe fitting from Local

Union 669 and worked as

a sprinkler fitter, a position

he held for 35 years. He ended his work journey with Gentry Fire Protection of Columbus. He married Veronica Dixon in 1982 raising his step daughter Lovita Albritton and his son Quevas. In his spare time he enjoyed cooking, fishing

and football. He occasionally catered events for family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Veronica Lewis; sisters, Rena Williams, Olivia Williams-taylor; step daughter, Lovita Albritton; and son, Quevas Lewis; and many cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations
