C. Douglas Grant of Columbus, age 90, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Mill Run Care Center in Hilliard. Doug was born in Coshocton, Ohio on April 19, 1932, to the late Clarence Grant and Rosemary Grant (Lash). Doug served his country in the United States Army during the

Korean War Conflict, he

served two tours and was a Paratroope­r. Doug was a

retired Police Officer with

the City of Worthingto­n and retired at the rank of Sergeant. Doug was the

founder of first martial arts

school in Ohio, he was a member of Martial Arts Hall of Fame, recipient of Arnold

Schwarzene­gger Martial Arts Lifetime Achievemen­t Award, and Police Olympic Judo Champion. Doug was a one-time Profession­al Wrestler and Coach of Worthingto­n Recreation Judo Club for 20 years. Doug was a life member of the Capital City FOP Lodge #9 and a life member of the VFW. Doug is survived by his daughter, Kim Fuller; son, John Grant; grandchild­ren, Kaleb and Kai Fuller; brother, Roger Grant; a niece and nephew. Besides his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his wife Maria Grant (Whang Choon Nam). A visitation will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 6-8PM at the Rutherford Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthingto­n, Ohio 43085. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 10AM, also at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Blendon Central Cemetery in Westervill­e, Ohio.
