Amy Graeff Van Culin, age 35, gained her angel wings on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. She fought bravely and courageously for almost two years after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma. She was currently waiting to participate in a clinical trial for Lymphoma patients at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda. Amy was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and friend. She was also an exceptional athlete, student and attorney. In her early years, she began playing soccer, and that would lead to a successful soccer career. Amy was the captain and MVP for Westerville North Girls’ Soccer during her high school years. She was also a member of the Ohio Premier Soccer Club, the Olympic Development Soccer team, and the Cleveland Internationals Soccer team. Her success in these organizations led to her collegiate career, where she was the captain of the Ohio State University Women’s Soccer team. While at Ohio State, she was also President of the OSU Student Athlete Advisory Board, inducted into the OSU Mortar Board, and graduated with honors. She also had a passion for running the Columbus Marathon. It was through soccer that she met the love of her life, Todd Van Culin. The two were married on August 2, 2014 and would have two children, Kylie and David. Following in her dad’s footsteps, Amy attended Capital Law School and would go on to have a career with the Franklin County Prosecu

tor’s office. She found great

reward in her time with the Special Victim’s Unit. She felt that she was helping victims of sexual abuse and violence get their justice. Many of her co-workers in

the prosecutor’s office kept

her spirits up during her journey and brought joy to her many days. Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents Nelson and Mary Martin, Otto and Julia Graeff, and her adopted grandparents Judge H. Alford and Mary Glascor. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Todd Van Culin; their children, Kylie and David; her parents, Wilma and David Graeff; parents-in-law, Paul and Denise Van Culin; Doug Van Culin; Jennifer Glascor; and sister-cousin, Bethany Spencer. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to The James in Columbus, Ohio, especially Dr. Kami Maddocks and her excellent and caring staff.
