David Quentin Sayer, died peacefully, Sunday June 12, 2022, at his residence. Born in Cincinnati December 30, 1937, he graduated from Saint Mary Magdalene Grade School, Aquinas College High School, and attended The Ohio State University where he was a member of Phi Kappa Fraternity and OSU PRO Sixty. He was a Boy Scout in Troop 416 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on The USS Blue (dd744) and The USS Shadwell (Lsd15) in ports on the Great Lakes, Little Creek, Rota, Hunters Point, Long Beach, and Yakusuka. He was employed by Buckeye Union, Continenta­l, Home, and Kemper Insurance Companies and was commission­ed by The National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspection­s. He enjoyed growing and sharing his love of Hosta, Daylilies and Orchids. Member of The Metropolit­an Columbus Daylily Society, The Central Ohio Hosta Society, and Central Ohio Orchid Society. Y-indian Guides Leather Lips Long House, YMCA Sailing Instructor and the Central Ohio Fellowship. He was a former member of Saint Catharine Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4603 in Grove City. Preceded in death by his children’s mother Judy Lee Epler, wife Barbara

Sayer, son Timothy Sayer and granddaugh­ter Kaylin Sayer. Survived by sons, Quentin Sayer, Michael Sayer (Suzy), and Douglas Sayer (Stacy); grandchild­ren, Patrick (Aline), Amanda Householde­r (Kenneth), Tim (Yelena), Arika, Andrew, Matthew, Ryan, Nathan, and Brendan Sayer; great grandchild­ren, Sophia, Avery, August, Anna, Pride, and Sean; special friend and companion, Carol Wood and her family. Friends may call Thursday, June 16, 2-4 and 6-8PM at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. BROAD ST. Prayer service 4pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday 10am at St. Patrick Church, 280 N.
