Donna Jean Adams, age 93, passed away on April 13, 2022 at Sage Park Alzheimer’s Care Center in Gahanna, OH from complicati­ons of dementia. She was preceded in death by her husband John Quincy Adams, her brother James Cover, and her sister Joanne Barra. She is survived by sisters, Frances Holt and Mary Kelly; her brother, Richard Cover; daughters, Rebecca Adams, MD, (Rich Mcgonigle); Christine Adams, PHD, (Ernest Frugé); Janice Adams; and Suzanne (Dheeraj) Kulshresth­a, PHD; as well as eight grandchild­ren and two great-grandchild­ren. Donna was born in Wapello, IA on October 14, 1928 to the late Rolla and Nevada (Fisher) Cover. She married John Quincy Adams in 1945 after a 17 day whirlwind wartime courtship. She attended the University of Iowa, graduating in 1952 with a degree in Pharmacy. Ahead of her time, in her adult life she devoted her efforts to working as a pharmacist, being a caregiver to her husband and children, and exploring her various interests, which included travel, spending time with family and friends, home décor and sewing. Her family fondly remembers her deep love of chocolate, the color blue, and her passion for blue Wedgwood Jasperware. Donna travelled nationally and internatio­nally, mostly with her husband, visiting numerous national parks, national museums, and sites of historical interest in the United States and around the world. She especially loved her travels to Europe, Mexico, Canada, China, Ireland, India, England and Scotland. She was fascinated by the variety of architectu­re and cultures across the globe. Donna lived in Iowa, Texas, Ohio, and North Carolina in her lifetime, making many friends along the way. She will be remembered by friends, family, and caregivers for her kindness, generosity, tolerance, and sweet, gentle nature. Funeral services will be held at Arlington Cemetery in Washington, D.C. at a date to be determined.
