Kirk Arthur Gay, 1/7/1943 - 6/19/2022. Predecease­d by parents USAF Msgt Arthur F Gay, Ret, 1976, Mabel E Keifer (née Hatcher, Gay) 2000. A superior intellect Kirk held degrees from Georgetown College, Georgetown, KY, Southern Baptist Seminary, Louisville, KY, The Ohio State University, Capital University. After being ordained at Walnut St Baptist Church Kirk and his wife Nancy, whom he met at seminary, served congregati­ons in Mussel Shoals, KY, Hartford, IL, and Bucyrus, OH. He returned to Columbus to study classical Greek where he learned to read and translate the New Testament scrolls. Kirk had an intimate knowledge of both the Bible’s new and old testaments. It was on the island of Kwajalein, at the age of sixteen, Kirk dedicated his life to studying the Bible and spreading the gospel. Survived by wife, Nancy (née Miller); sons, Jason and Eric Gay; daughter, Michelle (Michael) Larowe; sisters, Gloria (Robert) Hengen, Suzanne (Bruce) Ellingsen; brother, Kent Charles Gay; seven grandchild­ren, (all of Columbus); nieces, nephews and cousins. Volunteer Motts Military Museum, member Air Force Associatio­n Rickenback­er Chapter, licensed short wave radio operator, employee of CETA, Private Industry Council,

Netjets. Proud of his Scottish heritage Kirk faithfully attended the Robbie Burns dinner in his kilt and full Scottish regalia. He loved planes and took flying lessons. Kirk was a member of University Baptist, Karl Rd Baptist, and North Baptist Churches. Services to be held at North Baptist Church, 76 Charleston Ave, Thursday, 23 June, visitation 10am, service 11am, burial Resurrecti­on Cemetery, N High St, Lewis Center.
