GROVEPORT - Karen “Tito” Rader, age 83, of Groveport, peacefully passed at Wexner Heritage Village on Monday, September 26, 2022. Born in Toledo, Ohio on March 30, 1939 to the late John & Ortha Black. She was a graduate of Ottawa Hills H.S. in Toledo and received both a BS and BA from The Ohio State University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Karen had retired from Bexley Public Library in 2010, and was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Grove City. Karen had a long work experience which included Tampa General Hospital, WLWD in Dayton, WOSU TV and Radio in Columbus, WTVN in Columbus, and produced commercial­s for Borden’s, Ashland Oil, Dayton Power and Light, Columbus Parks & Rec, Lazarus Dept. Stores, and many others. She had also been a debate and speech high school teacher at Arlington High School and Columbus West High School. Karen is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Rader; daughter, Holly Gaw; brother, John (Susan) Black; brother-in-law, Dr. John (Shari) Graver; nieces and nephews, John & Dennette Graver, and their children, John and Jordan, Tracy & Paul Brown, James & Amy Graver, and their children, Ali and Mandy; nieces, Katy & Annie; nephew, John, III; and Holly’s aunt, Janet Lee. She was preceded in death by sisters, Bonnie Graver and Tracy Black. Friends may visit 2-5 pm Saturday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. Private entombment will be later at Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to their local animal shelter in Karen’s memory.
