John E. “Jack” Rauch, D.O.

COLUMBUS - John E. “Jack” Rauch, D.O., age 96, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022. He was born on November 13, 1926 in Logan, Ohio to the late Charles and Mary Catherine (Getz) Rauch. Jack was a 1944 graduate of Logan High School. In 1948, he attended Ohio University to complete pre-med requiremen­ts, but was interrupte­d due to service two years in the United States Army. In 1949, Jack received a B.A. from Denison University and in 1952, a D.O. from Kirksville College of Osteopathi­c Medicine. In 1953, Jack began his General Practice of Osteopathi­c Medicine in Logan, Ohio where he practiced for forty years. During that time in 1967, he founded and built Rauch Medical Clinic in Logan, Ohio. Jack was a member of the American Osteopathi­c Associatio­n and the Ohio Osteopathi­c Associatio­n. He served twenty-one years as Team Physician for the Athletic Department for Logan High School; and was an active member and past president of Logan Rotary Club that included 46 years of perfect attendance. Jack was also active members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Logan as well as Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Upper Arlington. In 1982, Jack was inducted into the Logan High School Hall of Fame for Outstandin­g Achievemen­t; and in 1986, he was inducted into the Logan High School Athletic Hall of Fame. In 1977, Jack was appointed to Hocking County Coroner and he served at the position for 21 years. He was also appointed by the Governor to the Ohio State Medical Board in June of 1983. Jack will be greatly missed by his wife, Norma Rauch; children, Steve (Cindy) Rauch, David (Gretchen) Rauch, Rebecca (John) Mohler and Tom (Jan) Rauch; stepson, Alan (Melissa) Seffens; and many loving grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Mcbroom; and brother, Charles Rauch. Visitation will be held from 9-11 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2001 Northwest Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43212, where a Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM. Private graveside service will be held at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsbu­rg, Ohio. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Dr. Charles F.
