SZA to perform in Columbus on Feb. 21

Following the release of her longawaite­d new sophomore album, “SOS,” music trendsette­r SZA will embark on an arena tour this spring that kicks off Feb. 21 in Columbus at the Schottenst­ein Center, West Lane Avenue and Olentangy River Road. Tickets go on sale at noon Friday on szasos.com.

Featuring support from Omar Apollo, this tour marks the first time the Grammy-award-winning SZA is playing venues of this size and debuting her latest album live to fans.

SZA released her major label debut album “Ctrl” in 2017. It landed at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart, No. 2 on the R&B/HIP Hop Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Nielsen Music. The now-three-timesplati­num album received five Grammy nomination­s in 2018 and remains on the Billboard 200 chart, holding the record for the longest run for any Black female artist’s debut album.

SZA has won various awards including a 2022 Grammy for Best Pop Duo/ Group Performanc­e for “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat, Billboard Music Awards’

Top R&B Female Artist, BET Awards’ Best New Artist, BET Soul Train Awards’ Best R&b/soul Female Artist and Best New Artist, MTV Video Music Awards’ Best Visual Effects for “All the Stars” with Kendrick Lamar, and NAACP Image Awards’ Outstandin­g New Artist.

Her hits include the hopeful track “Good Days,” “I Hate U” and her most recent single, “Shirt,” which has garnered over 60 million streams globally since its release in October. SZA’S new album, “SOS,” includes features by Travis Scott and Phoebe Bridgers, among others.
