GRANVILLE - Richard Yance “Dick” Roberts, aged 83 of Millerspor­t, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Middleton Assisted Living in Granville, Ohio.

Born May 7, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Raymond Thomas and Mildred Lenore (Young) Roberts.

Dick gave a lifetime of service and fellowship. Among his many membership­s and notable accomplish­ments, he was a 60 year member of the IBEW Local 683, a Veteran of the United States Air Force, SSGT- Korea- 121st Tac. Ftr. Gp., a graduate of Aquinas College High School, founder of Roberts Service Group, Inc. and a member of Serra Internatio­nal- West Valley, Arizona.

Dick is survived by two sons, Richard Yance (Michele) Roberts Jr. of Carroll, Ohio and Anthony Lawrence (Amanda) Roberts of Millerspor­t; one daughter, Elizabeth Theresa (Kyle) Butler of Millerspor­t; seven grandchild­ren; Sean (Julia), Joseph, Logan, Emma, And Brynlee Roberts and Robert (Kayla) and Bailey Butler; three sisters, Yancey Ann (James “Zeke”) Zimmer of Worthingto­n, Ohio, Mary Margaret (Roger) Pry of Groveport, Ohio, and Jane Ellen (Richard) Mckay of Columbus; two sisters-in-law, Carole Ann Roberts of Columbus and Kathleen “Kay” Irene Roberts of Moraga, California; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ann (Kane) Roberts (1-16-2023) and two brothers, James William Roberts and Raymond Thomas Roberts Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Pope John XXIII Catholic Church in Canal Winchester, Ohio, concelebra­ted by Father Denis S. Kigozi, Father Brian J. O’connor and Deacon Roger F. Pry.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Spence Funeral Home in Canal Winchester, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick’s memory to Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 16810, Columbus, Ohio 43216-6810 or to a charity of one’s choice.
