Marilyn White

COLUMBUS, OH Marilyn Jean White passed away to be with the Lord at the age of 92 on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at The Ridge at Lancaster.

Marilyn was born on May 3, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Merton and Dorothea Hayhurst. She was the eldest of 6 girls and 2 boys. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Class of 1948.

Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was her life. She enjoyed cookouts, family gatherings and many holidays shared with her family. Marilyn was also a mother to everyone who knew her. Her motherly love also extended into her green thumb. She was able to show tender care and love to any plant. Her gardens thrived, and she loved giving new life to almost dead plants too. She was patient with a sense of humor, and she never knew a stranger. Marilyn also enjoyed her Bingo, especially playing Bingo at the Ridge of Lancaster with her family.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Jack A. White and her son, Gregory Schmidt-white. Her memory lives on with her children, Mary (Steve) Lanning, Wayne (Robin) White, Dan (Denise) White, Bonnie (Wayne) Buck, Mark (Paula) White, Tom (Linda) White, John (Karen) White and Ron White; her 15 grandchildren; her 17 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Advantage at Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road. Entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
