Gwen Robinett

-

With deep Sorrow the Robinett, North, and Paxton families announce the passing of our strong, fiercely kind and beloved mother, wife and sister, Gwendolyn “Gwen” Robinett. Gwen passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on January 16, 2024 at Alzheimer’s and Dementia facility, Cotter House Worthington, after a 5+ year battle with dementia.

Gwen Robinett of Lancaster, Ohio was born in Fairfield County to Raymond “Walt” North and Marie North on December 29, 1948 (75). Gwen is survived by her deeply caring and devoted husband of 23 years, David Robinett, who was by her side through all the ups and downs of life. She leaves behind children Aaron Paxton (Kevin Butler) of Columbus, Ohio and Lauren Paxton (Cory Shields) of Worthington, Ohio, who she dedicated her entire world to ensuring were loved, cared for, and safe. Gwen and David share step-children Lesley (Michael) Pasqualetto of Riverton, Utah and Kyle (Erin) Robinett of St. Robert, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, and survived by her siblings, Joseph “Joe” (Grace) North, Michael “Mick” North, Lori Lott, and Lanessa North, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gwen graduated from Bishop Fenwick Catholic High School in 1967 and was a dedicated employee of South Central Power Company for 36 years. Gwen enjoyed gardening, going out to lunch, shopping, and getting iced cappuccinos with her children, sisters, and wonderful neighbors. Gwen had a soft spot for all of God’s creatures, especially dogs, birds, and the deer and squirrels who frequented her backyard. No animal would go hungry under Gwen’s watch, she made sure of that. She treated every animal with tender care, and even had a pet raccoon named Billy growing up, which she fondly remembered pushing around in a baby stroller. Gwen had a strong knack for interior decorating, which she passed on to her children who share her perfectionism for making all things look beautiful and pleasing to the eye.

The family would like to offer our deepest appreciation to the following facilities for their exceptional care: Fairfield Medical Center, Capital City Hospice, and Cotter House Worthington. We appreciate all your support, kindness, and empathy during this difficult journey.
