Frank Delmonico Jr.

-

Frank Delmonico Jr., of Gahanna, OH, and a 1961 graduate of Reading High School passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 80 on the morning of February 27th, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He truly never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his sister, Maryanne (Delmonico) Kenderdine, father, Frank Delmonico Sr. and mother, Theresa (Foscone) Delmonico. Born on April 12th, 1943, Frank led a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, cherished memories and countless funny stories chronicling his life. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Marie, who survives him and will miss him dearly. Married on October 3, 1970, they built a beautiful family and had an unbreakable bond that inspired all who knew them while sharing 53 years together. Frank was a dedicated father who poured his heart and soul into providing for his family, guiding them with his wisdom, compassion and caring. His high school friends called him “Abe” or “Abraham” comparing him to Abraham Lincoln (Honest Abe) to highlight the gravity of his honesty, character and integrity. To his aunts, uncles and cousins, he was simply known as “Junior.” Throughout his life, Frank was known for always being the life of the party. Like his father before him, he usually resisted attending social events regardless of whether it was for family or friends. Yet once he arrived at such a function, he was the most charismatic person there and made each and every person with whom he came in contact feel special. He took a genuine interest in their well-being. Also like his father before him, he had a passion for spending time soaking up the sun, often times with an ice-cold beer. Frank will be dearly missed by his son, Brian (Heather) as well as his grandchildren, Allison, and Joseph. He will also be missed by extended family and countless friends and neighbors. Calling hours will be held at Rutherford-corbin Funeral Home, located at 515 High St., Worthington, OH 43085 on Monday, March 4th, 2024 from 1 pm to 3 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm. The family is planning a celebration of life at a yet to be determined time and venue for close friends and family. Though Frank may no longer be with us in body, his spirit shall live on in all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing and may he rest in eternal peace.
