WESTERVILLE - Susan A. Starkey, 89, passed away Tuesday February 27, 2024. Susan is survived by her four daughters, Kathy (Jim), Pat (Jeremy), Diane, and Pam (Jen); her seven granddaughters and her eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Starkey; her parents, Ray and Marna Clark and her brother, Ron Clark. Susan graduated from University High and spent many years as a stay at home mom. In her early forties she re-entered the work force as a bus driver for Franklin County while taking classes at Ohio State, eventually graduating with a business and finance degree in 1987. Combining her experience as a bus driver with her finance knowledge, she worked in the transportation office of Franklin County until her “retirement”. Then she began a business providing transportation inservices, based on real experience, to education systems throughout the region. She continued to pursue her education, briefly becoming a tax professional for H&R Block, before choosing to volunteer her tax preparation services for many family and friends. She also worked as secretary for Meadowwood Condo Association and a sales clerk for Motherhood Maternity. But her favorite thing to do was travel, especially with her family. Her grandchildren will always remember their “Grandma trips”! Susan was a founding member of Maize Manor Methodist Church and attended faithfully throughout her life. She served as the church’s financial secretary for many years. The family requests that donation memorials can be sent to Maize Manor in lieu of flowers. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 E. Schrock Rd. Westerville, Ohio Saturday, March 2, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. where service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Northlawn Memory Gardens.
