COLUMBUS - Mary Louise (Mary Lou Devaney) Kreber, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 16th, surrounded by her children. Mary Lou was born January 6, 1931, in Columbus, Ohio.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband of 68.5 years, Frank Kreber, her father, John Devaney, her mother, Helen (Millay) Devaney and her brother, James Devaney. Mary Lou is survived by her seven children: Molly (Bill) Scott, Christina (Mike) Higgins, Ann (Doug) Miller, Joe (Pam) Kreber, Julie (Bob) Mullenix, Jack (Shelley) Kreber and Jim (Jennifer Mackenzie) Kreber.

Mary Lou graduated from Rosary High School in 1948, attended The Ohio State University, and worked for Ohio Bell before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Frank Kreber. Together they enjoyed a rich, full life, raising seven children, which led to 26 grandchild­ren, 20 great grandchild­ren, and counting, including her newest great grandson who will be born in April.

Mary Lou was extremely generous, and positively impacted the lives of many people, both in the U.S. and abroad. She was involved in leadership roles with many charities, including Christ Child, Women’s Care Center, Companions of St. Vincent and The Sisters of Sick Poor. Above all, Mary Lou was a faithful daily communican­t and a member of both St. Brendan Parish in Hilliard and St. John The Evangelist Parish in Naples. While raising her family, she was a dedicated member of St. Agatha Catholic Church. Later in life, she and her husband, Frank, enjoyed splitting their time between Columbus and Naples, Florida. Mary Lou was a beloved friend of many, and always the life of the party, especially any St. Patrick’s Day party or if there was dancing involved. And she was always especially welcoming to all her children’s friends, and was most happy when her home was full and everybody was having a good time.

Calling Hours will be held at Egan-ryan Northwest (4661 Kenny Rd, Columbus, OH) on Thursday, March 21st from 4-7 pm. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church (4475 Dublin Rd, Hilliard, OH) on Friday, March 22nd at 10:30 am. The mass will be streamed live at youtube.com/c/ Saintbrend­anthenavig­atorhillia­rd/.
