Easily make perfect pita chips

Pita chips are a delicious food, perfect for a party appetizer or a snack on the couch. Chips pair well with an array of dips, like hummus, spinach artichoke dip, tzatziki and pimento cheese dip. They’re also surprising­ly fast and easy to make.

Ditch the deep fried and overly salty store-bought options for this three-ingredient homemade pita chip recipe. Plus, a fresh chip just tastes so much better, doesn’t it? Grab your olive oil, pita bread and salt and clear a workspace to easily make this delicious treat.

Homemade pita chips

Before you get started, you’ll need a few things.

Large bowl

Baking sheet

Parchment paper

Knife and/or kitchen scissors These homemade pita chips can be made in less than half an hour. 1 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil per loaf Sea salt (or any seasoning you like) The recipe works for thin and thicker pita bread, so choose whichever you prefer.

Preheat the oven to 375o.

Cut the pita bread into thick strips. Cut the strips into squares.

Put the pita bread into a large bowl. Add the olive oil.

Toss until all of the pita bread is evenly coated.

Sprinkle in sea salt as you toss the olive oil.

Evenly spread the chips onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-15 minutes until lightly golden. Toss them halfway through. Let them cool for five minutes.
