The Commercial Appeal - Go Memphis
Blog bitebites
Follow along on our food blog at commercialappeal.com/go-eat to read about what’s going on in and around town. This week this sad news was among our posts: Edo on Summer is closed and for sale. A sign on the door says it is “permanently closed until further notice.” Another gives the $15,000 asking price and a phone number. It’s been up and down for the sweet little Japanese place since the original owner sold it a few years back. First a former server took it over, but had problems getting a kitchen staff. It was later sold to two young guys who resurrected the original dishes and did an OK job with them some of the time, but missed other times. Sometime in the past year, Edo opened again for lunch and offered a menu that included pho and a ramen burger (which was very good). But now it’s closed and possibly for sale, though word is that it’s already sold.
