Here are the new dates for Memphis food festivals and celebrations that were originally scheduled for this spring and postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
2020 World Championship Hot Wing Contest & Festival: June 6
The World Championship Hot Wing Contest & Festival has been moved to June 6 at Tiger Lane in the Mid-south Fairgrounds. If you already bought tickets, registered a team, applied to be a vendor, etc., those agreements will be honored for the new date.
Memphis Brewfest: July 18
In its 11th year, Memphis Brewfest will feature beers from more than 50 breweries. The event will be at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.
Charc Week: July 27-Aug. 1
Charc Week is a weeklong celebration of charcuterie. Various Memphis restaurants will feature charcuterie boards for $12. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Church Health.
Wiseacre’s Taste the Rarity: Sept. 12
Featuring 35 breweries from across the country, Taste the Rarity is a festival celebrating all things beer. The festival is hosted by and held at Wiseacre Brewing Co.
Memphis Greek Festival: Sept. 2526
In its 62nd year, the Memphis Greek Festival is a two-day celebration of all things Greek — including Greek food. The event is held annually at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on Highland.
Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest: Sept. 30-Oct. 3
Barbecue teams from around the world will gather again this year on the banks of the Mississippi River to compete for the title of grand champion. The only thing different from years past will be the month.
Memphis Farmers Market: TBD The Memphis Farmers Market in Downtown Memphis has chosen to delay the opening of its 2020 season. The market was originally scheduled to
Tim Bethany, singer for the Swine & Dine team, performs during the 2015 Ms. Piggy Idol contest at Tom Lee Park. This year’s World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest has been postponed to Sept. 30-Oct. 3. open April 4. A new date has yet to be determined.
Vintage 901: TBD
Vintage 901 was originally scheduled for April 17-19. A new date for this series of wine tasting events has yet to be determined.
Memphis Italian Festival: May 2729, 2021
The 2020 Memphis Italian Festival has been canceled. It would have been the 31st year for this festival and cooking contest that started as a fundraiser for Holy Rosary School.
Le Bon Appetit: June 12, 2021
Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, chef Kelly English and Le Bonheur Club have made the decision to postpone the upcoming Le Bon Appetit event originally scheduled for June 13. The new Le Bon Appetit date is June 12, 2021, at Crosstown Concourse.
