Mcdonald cited as Mayor of Year
Bartlett Mayor Keith McDonald was named Mayor of the Year on Tuesday by the Tennessee Municipal League.
The announcement came during the TML’s annual conference in Knoxville.
McDonald is in his third term as mayor. He was first elected in 2002 after serving five years as an alderman.
The media release from the TML cites his commitment to the city and its citizens. The organization noted Bartlett being a Tree City and making the CNN/Money Magazine Top 100 places to live.
McDonald, owner and founder of McDonald Insurance and Financial Services, serves on the TML’s board of directors and several committees for the National League of Cities. He also is on the Municipal Technical Advisory Service advisory board.

The center will host another screening and application process for the free units from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at 785 Jackson.
To qualify, applicants must live in Shelby County, be a low-income senior age 60 or older and be without operable air conditioning. MLGW will conduct a field inspection to verify that the residence meets installation requirements.
Applicants will need the following credentials:
Tennessee state ID or driver’s license.
The most recent pay stub or Social Security income statement.
Anyone who has a physical disability but does not meet the age requirement must bring the proper certification information.

Also, the official 19th annual Juneteenth Freedom & Heritage Festival poster will be unveiled by artist Wiley Henry and an array of art created by area students will be on display.
Gala tickets are $50 per person. The rest of the three - day weekend’s activities are free at Douglass Park, at Mt. Olive and North Holmes in North Memphis.
