No mercy for abusers

- Kristi Davis, Bartlett

The story concerning shelter cruelty is horrifying. Absolutely no more “Second Chance” participants should be around animals; we certainly would not let them care for people. This story made me sick and heartbroken for the innocent creatures that deserved mercy and compassion. All of these men deserve none. Mayor A C Wharton, your constituents are watching the shelter closely; make sure that it is run professionally and with the greatest level of care.

For the rest of my fellow citizens, spay and neuter your pets. Adopt. All of my immediate and extended family have adopted cats and dogs. They are valued family members and wonderful pets. off today than you were four years ago?”

My memory of our political history is: 2006 — Republicans lost the House, and there was only a one-Republican senator advantage in the Senate. In 2008, the House remained Democratic, and the Democrats took control of the Senate and presidency.

In 2010, Republicans regained control of the House, but the Senate remained Democratic with Democrat Harry Reid, refusing even to allow votes in the Senate to review some of the House proposals to reduce unemployment. In 2006 the unemployment rate was 5.6 percent. Today the unemployment rate is still over 8 percent.

The correct question is “Are you better off today than you were six years ago?” inherited from the previous administration that affected our economy, 9/11 being the worst. If Clinton had done his job and taken out Osama bin Laden when he had the opportunity, our economy would not be in such a bad state.

Clinton praised Obama for creating more jobs than the Republican Party. Is that, perhaps, because Obama received benefits of bailouts and stimulus paid for by taxpayers? And, all of the struggling unemployed Americans are probably wondering where those jobs were. Maybe they were given to the illegal immigrants we have inherited under this president.

Yep, Obama and Clinton paint a rosy picture for our future. Do they really think Americans are naive enough to believe this? When people consider the “arithmetic” of this economy, they should also be reminded of what the definition of “is” is: the economy is in a mess and Obama has made the economy worse.
