HOLIDAY CHANGES

Thursday is Independen­ce Day, meaning some changes in garbage collection schedules and the closure of government offices in Memphis and Shelby County. Most government offices will reopen Friday.

ARLINGTON: Offices are closed on Thursday. Sanitation service moves a day later, with Thursday collection­s on Friday and Friday service on Saturday.

BARTLETT: City offices are closed Thursday as well as the Bartlett Recreation Center, Animal Shelter and Library. Sanitation service is delayed one day in the latter part of the week.

COLLIERVIL­LE: Town Hall and the library are closed Thursday. Thursday’s garbage pickup will be delayed a day, and there will be no residentia­l appliance pickups Friday.

GERMANTOWN: City offices, the Germantown Community Library and the Germantown Athletic Club all are closed Thursday. There will be no trash collection on Thursday, moving service a day later in the latter part of the week.

LAKELAND: City offices are closed Thursday and Thursday’s garbage pickup will be delayed by a day.

MEMPHIS: City offices are closed Thursday. Memphis residents serviced by city of Memphis Solid Waste Management whose regular collection day is Thursday will get their garbage and recycling collected Friday. No other days of the week are affected, although there will be little or no collection of excess trash and yard debris Friday as crews focus on collecting Thursday’s garbage.

Memphis homes serviced by Republic Services and Waste Connection­s will get garbage and recycling collection one day later beginning Thursday. No yard debris or excess trash will be collected on Saturday.

MILLINGTON: City offices are closed Thursday, and Thursday’s garbage pickup will be delayed by a day.
