Father shoots child in gun safety lesson

DAVIE — A father who accidentally shot and wounded his 12-year-old daughter while teaching her about gun safety was not arrested, Davie police said.

The shooting happened Sunday night. The police investigation is still open. The child was admitted to a local hospital. The wound to her left forearm was not life-threatening.
