-

Toyota Motor Corp. is recalling 6.5 million vehicles worldwide for a defective power window switch that can overheat, melt and lead to fires.

One injury in the U.S., a person who suffered a burn on the hand, has been reported. Toyota has also received 11 reports of cases in which the switch or part of the car door burned — seven in North America, two in Japan and two in other areas — the Japanese automaker said Wednesday.

The recall includes 2.7 million vehicles in North America, 1.2 million in Europe and 600,000 in Japan. In the U.S., 2 million vehicles are affected, covering 10 models with model years ranging from 2006 to 2011.

The following cars in the U.S. are covered by the recall: the 2007 and 2009 Camry; the 2009-2011 Corolla, Matrix, Sequoia, Tundra, and Scion xB; the 2006-2011 RAV4; the 20082011 Highlander; the 20062010 Yaris and the 20092010 Scion xD. Toyota recalled some 2007-2009 vehicles previously for a similar problem.

The Ann Arbor, Michigan-based pizza chain on Wednesday unveiled a subcompact named “DXP” after a code for its delivery driving “experts.” It’s a bid to improve the way the company delivers food and boost its branding power.

The Chevy Spark subcompact has been stripped down and outfitted with new gadgets by Domino’s, including a warming oven located behind the driver’s door and accessible through an exterior door.

Designed for maximizing deliveries, the DXP has been stripped of every seat except for the driver’s seat to make room for more pies. One car can hold 80 pizzas, the company said.

Features include hubcaps adorned with the Domino’s logo. The cars’ color scheme will match the company’s: red, white and blue. was 11.1 percent, compared with the industry’s 6.2 percent, according to TrueCar, a website that tracks car pricing.

Volkswagen is trying to minimize the damage to its reputation and deliveries from the scandal.

VW is offering threeyear leases on the brand’s top seller, the Jetta compact, for $139 a month with a $2,199 down payment, according to the company’s website. Volkswagen also is offering interest-free financing and as much as $2,000 in discounts on its No. 2 seller, the Passat sedan.
