Police investigate shooting death

The Memphis Police Department is investigating after a man was found dead near Holmes and Tchulahoma roads Thursday morning.

Police responded to a home near Zodiac Park, not far from the Mississippi border, in the 5300 block of Cosmos Cove at 8:49 a.m.

Officers found a 24-year-old man dead of an apparent gunshot wound, according to MPD spokesman Louis Brownlee.

The investigation was ongoing, he said.

A third person was walking by as the robbery occurred and one of the suspects shot him, police said. He was taken to Regional Medical Center in noncritical condition, Brownlee said.

The two suspects got back into the Crown Victoria and fled with a female driver, police said.

Police are continuing to investigate.
