ServiceMaster HQ moving along

Construction is in high gear to transform the longvacant Peabody Place mall into the new headquarters for ServiceMaster.

Belz Construction Services applied for a building permit this week that values the next phase of construction at $9.5 million.

ServiceMaster announced its move to Downtown on June 3. It expects the new, 328,000-squarefoot home office at the corner of Peabody Place and Third to be ready by late 2017. About 1,200 workers will move there.

ServiceMaster signed a 15-year lease with landlord Belz Enterprise.
